On behalf of the Judo Ontario Board of Directors, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to exercise their right to vote. Over 50% of the membership took the time to vote, thank you. On a personal note, I would like to say thank you for your continued support and look forward to leading this organization for the term 2008-10. Included in this mailing is a list of the new board of directors. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the board.

This summer has flown by quickly and now we find ourselves getting ready for the Hatashita International. Please take the opportunity to stop by our premier event to watch Ontario's finest judokas compete on the international stage. Congratulations go out to Lukasz Mozdzen, Kelita Zupancic and Renee Guggino who've qualified for the Junior World Championships this October.

Also ahead of us is the Judo Ontario head office move, which has once again been pushed back to early December. Our immediate plans are to continue working with Al Will, consultant for non-profit organizations, as he facilitates our board to ensure our revised constitution meets the needs of the Judo Ontario membership. The board has already met twice as we work towards finalizing this over the next six months. In addition, we're working with the Ministry of Health Promotion on our sanctioning format and addressing any shortcomings to ensure we cover all areas necessary for Ministry approval.

A number of changes are taking place on how we do business with membership registration, event registration and registration with Judo Canada. I would like to say thank you for your patience and understanding as we move through this process. Finally, I would like to encourage any member of Judo Ontario who wishes to sit on any committee, please read the memo for volunteer committee members included in this mailing.
