Junior Development Committee

The Judo Ontario Junior Development Committee is committed to the research, development, and implementation of programs and activities that will enhance the overall judo experience of our young Judoka through competitive and non-competitive judo events and activities. In identifying proven methods of judo presentation as well as researching and fostering innovations, the JDC strives to increase the appeal and overall visibility of judo in Ontario. As well, the JDC will also assist with identifying potential High Performance Judo Athletes and assist them with their transition to the high performance stream. In addition, the JDC will provide organized non-competitive activities that take the recreational judoka beyond the club experience towards recognition and inclusion in their regional and provincial community. The Junior Development Committee is committed to partner with any other committee that delivers programs for youth 18 and under.

Members of the Junior Development Committee, in collaboration with the Regional Directors, will conduct seminars and workshops in each region. This will set the groundwork for each region to identify the types of programs and services they may require to enhance future junior & recreational development in their regions. In addition the JDC will assist any group of three clubs or more in the delivery of developmental workshops / clinics with funding, promotional or instructional assistance.
